Kyoto Group

The Norwegian Kyoto Group has inaugurated the pioneering demonstration plant within Norbis Park, launched in autumn 2023.

The PtX salt facility, Heatcube, represents the first thermal battery of its kind in Northern Europe. The installation uses molten salt for energy storage in connection with the district heating network. 

The demonstration plant is operational and is designed to deliver up to 5,000 MWh annually to Aalborg Forsyning's district heating network, equivalent to the annual heat consumption of approximately 275 homes.
