Power-to-X Facility in Norbis Park

Collaborating to Transform Aviation

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), SAS, Copenhagen Airport, and Aalborg Airport have joined forces to advance Danish production of sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) and accelerate the green transition in aviation.

Aalborg Forsyning is set to play a key role in this initiative. The partners behind the agreement have committed to supporting the Fjord PtX project in Norbis Park, where the plans will take shape.

Construction of the Fjord PtX facility is expected to begin in 2026, with operations expected to commence in 2029.

Scandinavia’s Largest of Its Kind

The facility will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in volumes equivalent to three times the annual consumption of Danish domestic flights. It is projected to become one of Scandinavia’s largest eSAF plants.

Each year, the facility is expected to produce 110 million liters of SAF and repurpose up to 330,000 tons of CO₂. Additionally, it will generate significant surplus heat, capable of covering at least 10% of Aalborg’s district heating needs.
